Uttar Pradesh government has put its ministers on the job calling for them to embark on an elaborate block level “pravaas” or tour in districts they are in charge of, over June and July, and inspect various public service works underway as well as strengthen the “samvaad and sampark” or outreach with the general public ahead of elections to zila panchayat elections in July and assembly polls next year. The decision, taken by the Cabinet which met on Monday comes days after UP CM Yogi Adityanath returned from Delhi after meeting the prime minister, home minister as well as BJP chief JP Nadda to seek guidance and discuss the roadmap for the upcoming polls. It was decided that if possible all blocks should be toured by the minister-in-charge of a district, in which he should inspect the ration distribution program, oversee the program underway to improve conditions of the primary and community health centres at the village level (PHCS/CHCs) as well as inspect other developmental works taking place. BJP organisation workers will also hold meetings in small groups, abiding by Covid protocols, essentially to focus on “sampark and samvaad” campaign of the party, government spokesperson and MSME minister Sidharth Nath Singh said.
Ministers have also been asked to hold programs on June 21 which is Yoga Day as well as oversee a record plantation drive being undertaken between June 23 and July 6. Also, it has been specifically directed that on June 27, workers should assemble at booths to hear the PM’s Mann Ki Baat show on the radio and ministers have also been asked to stay present at one booth for the same, Singh said.
