Trinamool won’t limit itself to Meghalaya, Tripura, Goa: Abhishek Banerjee

The Trinamool Congress plans to expand its presence in several states across the country in the coming days and not limit itself to Goa, Tripura and Meghalaya, AITC’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said on Thursday. He attacked the Centre for increasing fuel prices 13 times in the last 15 days.”We have ventured into Meghalaya, Goa and Tripura, but we will not limit ourselves to these three states. The party will fight (elections) in various states. Tripura and Meghalaya will go to polls next year. We will fight in several other states as well,” Banerjee said. Abhisek Banerjee and Trinamool candidate Babul Supriyo, along with other Trinamool leaders, participated in a roadshow from Ballygunge to Mullickbazar on Thursday. The Ballygunge assembly seat, which was vacated following the death of Subrata Mukherjee, will face bypolls on April 12.”I can vouch that the Ballygunge Trinamool candidate will win by around 70,000 votes and Asansol candidate Shatrughan Sinha will win by a margin of over two lakh,” Banerjee claimed.

“We fought in 26 seats in Goa and got 9% votes. How many years did BJP take in Bengal to get 9% votes?” Banerjee said adding “the party stepped into Goa just three months ahead of the polls there.””In 2019, petrol price was ’70, now it is ‘115. Diesel is almost touching ‘100 from ’60. The prices of life-saving drugs have increased three fold. The price of paracetamol tablets, which was essential during the pandemic, has increased from ’16 to ’40. Cooking oil has skyrocketed from ‘100 to ‘190. On the other hand, a movie is made tax-free…,” he said.”(Subrata)Mukherjee is in every nook and corner of Ballygunge constituency. Babul Supriyo has left the ideology of “Jai Sriram” and joined Trinamool which has the ideology of “Joy Bangla”. Here the candidate is not Babul but Mamata Banerjee,” Abhisek Banerjee said. He claimed that the ED, CBI, Congress, BJP and CPM are on the same side and Trinamool has to fight them all.
