The Supreme Court of India came down heavily on the Centre for its handling of the farmers’ protests and has asked the government to put the farm laws on hold or else it will stay them.The top court proposed the formation of a committee to come out with a resolution to the impasse.The top court is hearing a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the laws.According to ANI, the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said that the court is disappointed by the way the process is going.The CJI further added that old people and women are part of the agitation and some have also committed suicide.On farmers protesting and blocking roads, the CJI expressed apprehension that if the protests continue without any resolution, there might be a breach of peace.
