Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad meet President, demand repeal of farm laws

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad today met the President and called for his intervention in the farmers’ protests and demanded the repeal of the farm laws.Gandhi said that the Congress stands firmly behind the protesting farmers.Earlier, a delegation of Congress leaders marching towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan was stopped by the Delhi Police. Only those who had permission were allowed to proceed. Those who have been detained by the police include Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with other senior leaders. They have been taken to the Mandi Marg Police Station. “Any dissent against this govt is classified as having elements of terror. We are undertaking this march to voice our support for the farmers,” says Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.”I want to tell the PM that these farmers are not going to go back home until these farm laws are repealed. Govt should convene a joint session of Parliament and take back these laws. Opposition parties stand with farmers & labourers,” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said.
