PM Modi says ‘no trade or talks’ with Pakistan amid cross-border tensions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there will be no trade or talks with Pakistan, while addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan on Thursday.

PM Modi, who was there to inaugurate several key projects in Bikaner, spoke about India’s recent Operation Sindoor. “For every terrorist attack, Pakistan will have to pay a high cost. And this cost will be paid by the country’s army and their economy,” he said.

India carried out precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on terror infrastructure early on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.

Furthermore, the PM made India’s stance clear regarding the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). “Pakistan will not be given the water which is rightfully India’s,” said Modi.Pakistan PM had expressed interest in discussing IWT that has been kept under abeyance by India following the Pahalgam attack. The IWT was concluded by India with Pakistan in a spirit of goodwill and friendship in 1960.
