Now, government will remind you to schedule second dose

The Centre has devised a new system to ensure people complete their Covid-19 vaccination schedule taking both doses up to eight weeks apart.Drawing lessons from the numerical gap between the first and second doses of healthcare and frontline workers in the first phase of vaccination, the Centre has devised a technological intervention that would send reminders to a person to schedule an appointment for the second dose. The reminders would begin three weeks after the person takes the first dose. The reminder would be to schedule an appointment for the second dose. For Covaxin, the government’s prescribes a difference of four weeks between the two doses and for Covishield the ideal difference is 6-8 weeks.
