BJP leaders have expressed confidence that the party would secure a majority in the 40-member Goa assembly in the elections early next year. They said that the BJP was unperturbed by the entry of Trinamool Congress. A fragmented opposition is not going to gain much in the state, is the BJP calculation.Recently, former Goa CM and Congress leader Luzinho Falerio had joined Trinamool Congress and some other leaders from Congress too are likely to jump ship before elections.”Our government in Goa is doing good work and people of Goa recognise this,” BJP general secretary in-charge of Goa CT Ravi told ET. “Before Trinamool, AAP and NCP have also tried to gain a foothold in the state, but nothing has happened on the ground. People of Goa know the fact that it is the BJP government which is working to ensure all around development of Goa.”
