Nandigram remains point of debate between Trinamool Congress, BJP

After a whopping victory in West Bengal during assembly polls and all other by-polls recently, Nandigram still remains a point of debate between the ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP.Trinamool Congress leadership blamed BJP on Wednesday for forcefully capturing the booths and winning by illegal means during assembly polls. Trinamool Congress spokesperson and state secretary Kunal Ghosh claimed if recounting was done in Nandigram, Mamata Banerjee will win with more than 22,000 votes. The party paid respect to the people of Nandigram’s Tekhali who died during farmers movement on anniversary of “Operation Sunshine”, who were martyr’s of Nandigram.“Nandigram was won by illegal means. We want to oust Suvendu Adhikari from Nandigram for ever. Had recounting taken place in Nandigram, Mamata Banerjee would have won with a margin of 22,000 plus votes,” Kunal Ghosh threatened and slammed Adhikari for dividing Nandigram on communal lines.

During assembly election this year, Nandigram witnessed a high decibel fight between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her close aide Suvdendu Adhhikari. Adhikari was a close associate of Banerjee during her Nandigram movement days, which brought her to power in 2011.BJP LoP and Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari commemorated Nandigram Diwas in Gokulnagar and took out a rally in the area.“I have defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram and I will hoist the saffron flag across the state. I have defeated Lakshman Seth from CPIM during the Left Front regime and I have defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. In future also, I will win from people’s support,” Adhikari said today. “I would never forget those who lost their lives for the Nandigram movement & those who resisted the mighty Left Front regime’s autocratic tactics; that ultimately changed West Bengal’s political landscape,” Suvendu Adhikari took to twitter.
