Maharashtra crisis: Rebel Sena MLA says ‘felt insulted & humiliated’

Eknath Shinde on Thursday shared a letter written by Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Shirsat who revealed that the party MLAs never got a chance to visit Varsha Bungalow (the chief minister’s residence) which they regarded as an insult.“Despite having a Shiv Sena CM in the state, the party MLAs didn’t get the opportunity to visit Varsha Bungalow (CM’s residence). People around Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray used to decide if we could meet him or not. We felt we were insulted,” rebel MLA mentioned in the letter.Shirsat asserted that Sena MLAs, who endured ‘humiliation’ for the previous two and a half years, pushed state minister Eknath Shinde to take the action of defying the party leadership.

Shirsat stated that while the people from the CM’s very own party were averted to meet the CM, people from their ‘real opposition’– the Congress & the NCP got opportunities to meet him, provided they also received funds related to work in their constituencies.“CM never used to be in the Secretariat, instead, he used to be in Matoshree (Thackeray residence). We used to call people around the CM but they never used to attend our calls. We were fed up with all these things & persuaded Eknath Shinde to take this step,” the MLA further added in his letter.Shirsat also questioned Sena and his party that when Hindutva and Ram Mandir are crucial issues for the party, then why did the party prevent them from visiting Ayodhya.“MLAs were called & were stopped from going to Ayodhya during Aaditya Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya” Rebel Shiv Sena MLA said.
