The PDP is meeting on Sunday to decide about the agenda for the meeting with the PM. “The political affairs committee of the party headed by Mehbooba Mufti is meeting on Sunday to chart the future course of action regarding the proposed meeting in Delhi,” said the party’s chief spokesman Suhail Bukhari. A senior National Conference leader said the party leader and former chief minister of J&K Farooq Abdullah has also received the invitation for the meeting in Delhi. Abdullah had told media persons that he would convene a party meeting after he gets a formal invitation from the Centre. Abdullah, the head of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), a grouping of regional parties formed in October 2020 to strive for restoration of special status and statehood of J&K, had recently stated that “all doors of engagement with New Delhi are open”.
