With an eye on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress has planned to put up giant screens at their offices all over the country, especially in New Delhi, Assam, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and several other states, to telecast the Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s speech virtually on July 21, celebrated as Martyr’s Day.Before the pandemic, Banerjee used to address a mega rally in Kolkata every year on this day. This is the first time that TMC will telecast their July 21 programme outside West Bengal. Several Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will be present at the national capital on July 21 to make the programme a success.
Trinamool MP Saugata Roy said the people of our country hope to hear Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee on July 21 as she is the main face of Opposition.“Everyone in India knows that Mamata Banerjee stands for development and people want to hear her as people know that she is the strong force who can defeat the BJP,” Roy added.Mamata Banerjee has said that due to the pandemic this year she would have a virtual meeting on July 21 and party workers will be present at every booth to listen to her speech.Political observers said Trinamool’s strategy to popularise the party outside Bengal ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election will help it reap benefits.
