BENGALURU: Facebook took down some posts by Bharatiya Janata Party politicians T. Raja Singh and Anand Hegde after a Wall Street Journal story reported on an alleged bias favouring the ruling party in taking down hateful content by the social media giant. The Wall Street Journal reported that Facebook is going slow on taking down posts by BJP politicians, and the inaction is allegedly part of a broader pattern of favouritism by the company toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP and Hindu hard-liners.”We prohibit hate speech and content that incites violence and we enforce these policies globally without regard to anyone’s political position or party affiliation. While we know there is more to do, we’re making progress on enforcement and conduct regular audits of our process to ensure fairness and accuracy.” said Facebook company spokesperson in an email.
