Congress: Abduction of Arunachal Pradesh teenager exposes grave national security situation

The Congress alleged that the reported abduction of an Arunachal Pradesh teenager by the Chinese army personnel has exposed the grave national security situation existing across Line of Actual Control (LAC). Rahul Gandhi asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was keeping silent on the latest Chinese provocation.”Just a few days before the Republic Day a young boy, the future of India, was kidnapped by China. We stand with the family of Miram Taron and will not give up hope and won’t accept defeat. The Prime Minister’s cowardly silence is his statement… He doesn’t care,” Gandhi tweeted on Thursday.Party spokesman Shaktisinh Gohil said even the BJP’s member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh Tapil Gao had gone public about the Chinese army personnel abducting the Arunachal youth.

Congress leader from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Erong termed the incident a major concern and said in a video message, “China should return the abducted boy from our land. We have nothing to do with China. We want the safe return of Miram Taron at the earliest.”All India Congress Committee spokespersons referred to various incidents of alleged Chinese intrusions across LAC and said the Modi government was ineffective in responding to them. Randeep Surjewala tweeted that the PM and the Union government were silent even as China had built an illegal bridge on Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh, the Chinese army transgressed and abducted Indian citizens in Arunachal Pradesh, China illegally occupied Depsang Plains up to Y junction and China illegally occupied Gogra Hot Springs.
