Amit Shah launches water ambulance in West Bengal

After reaching Bengal on a two-day visit on Thursday morning, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a water ambulance this morning at North 24 Paraganas district’s Hingalganj. It is learnt that Shah held discussions with the senior BSF officials on border security, cross-border smuggling and security issues at Indo-Bangladesh border in Hingalganj. Shah will reach Haridaspur BSF camp from Hinganganj by road and he will have lunch with BSF in Haridaspur, in a bid to boost the morale of teh force.

Following his meeting at Haridashpur BSF camp, the Union Home Minister will go to Siliguri, where he will address a public rally. Shah will also meet senior party leaders in Siliguri and help them with a roadmap for the future. Apart from the government programmes with BSF and flagging off a Floating Boat Ambulance named Sutluj in Hingalnganj, Shah will hold organisational meetings, address a public rally, besides visiting forward areas along the India-Bangladesh border.MoS Shantanu Thakur is likely to be present at Harisdaspur. Shah will lay foundation stone of Maitri Museum and Prahari Sammelan at BOP HaridaspurShah will address a public meeting in Siliguri in the evening. “In Siliguri, Amit Shah Ji will garland the statues of legendary Gorkha mountaineer Tenzing Norgay and Rajbanshi leader from Cooch Behar Thakur Panchanan Barma. He will address a public meeting. Later in the evening, he will leave for Darjeeling,” a senior state BJP leader said.The Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday morning arrived in West Bengal for two days starting from today, his first since the state assembly polls last year. On Friday, he will visit the India-Bangladesh border area of Teen Bigha, where he is scheduled to interact with BSF personnel.The Union minister, after attending a programme at Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata later on Friday, will hold a meeting with office-bearers at state BJP headquarters.BJP in Bengal is looking forward to boost its organisational machinery in the state, which has been marred by internal squabbles and defections since the 2021 assembly poll results.
