Maharashtra: Minister Nawab Malik claims NCB Director Wankhede was illegally tapping phones

Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik on Tuesday made a sensational allegation that Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede was illegally tapping phone calls of people in Mumbai. Malik claimed that Wankhede had sought the help of two ‘private people’ who were helping him in tapping phones illegally.“We have come to know that phone calls are being tapped in the state through these two people, one of the men who has been helping him is one in Mumbai and the other is in Thane, they are tapping the phones of politicians, film stars and also politicians. I have all the details of these people and soon will file a complaint with the Mumbai police Commissioner on the issue.”said the NCP Minister.Malik reiterated that Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede had got a job through the UPSC ‘fraudulently’ under the scheduled caste quota. Malik said that Wankhede’s caste certificate would soon be challenged at the state’s caste scrutiny committee.

Refuting allegations that he has been targeting Wankhede’s family by bringing out the latter’s birth certificate and religion. “We have not made any filthy comments on the family members, we have stated the truth about a fraud where a deserving scheduled caste person’s job was taken away fraudulently by Sameer Wankhede by forging his birth caste certificate.”said the Minister. He said that in the next few days Dalit organizations and people would soon file a complaint against the caste validity committee to verify the caste certificate of Wankhede and Iam sure the truth would come out.“ I have got more evidence in the case and I will slowly bring it out.”said Malik. The NCP Minister also posted a letter on twitter allegedly sent to him by a NCB official posted in Mumbai that alleges that Wankhede was framing people in the film industry and listed 26 cases where people were wrongly accussed. According to the letter Wankhede along with certain officials were planting drugs on people to frame them. Malik said that he would ask the NCB to investigate the letter too in its vigilance inquiry against Wankhede.
